The pristine sandy beaches, sparkling waters and sun-dappled forests in and around Cintsa, a charming seaside town, offer ample opportunities for hiking, canoeing and surfing. | | Days 3-5 | Addo Elephant Park/Tsitsikamma/Knysna | Nestled deep in a densely forested valley, Addo Elephant Park marks the start of the journey along the famous Garden Route. This reserve boasts a spectacular array of animals with everything from magnificent African elephants to diminutive dung beetles. Tsitsikamma, where ancient forests meet the pounding Indian Ocean, is a spectacular setting for walks and the highest bungee jump in the world is located here. Spend nights in quaint Knysna, perched by a picturesque lagoon lined with white powder beaches and chock-full of fine restaurants. | | Day 6 | Oudtshoorn | For game-viewing of a different nature, tour a commercial ostrich farm and learn about these exotic, long-legged birds. Wander the streets of Oudtshoorn for a look at the opulent mansions built with pretty pennies brought in by the feather trade and discover the fantastic stalactites and stalagmites that decorate the nearby Cango Caves. | | Day 7 | Cape Town | There's no better place to celebrate an adventure than in one of the Cape region's famous wineries. Swish, swill and savour the tantalising flavours of local wines before arriving in cosmopolitan Cape Town. |
